Welcome to TheWildRx.com – your prescription for untamed ideas and bold adventures. I’m Mik, aka NatureCrank, a writer, explorer, and photographer with a knack for chasing the unconventional. Here, I share stories from the edge (that’s what people think about being off-grid and living the RV life), tips for thriving outside the lines, or raw, unfiltered takes on life. Fueled by curiosity and a strong cup of coffee (actually, I usually drink decaf), I’m all about shaking up the ordinary and inspiring you to do the same.

I’ve always been drawn to the wild side of life – whether that’s hiking unmarked trails, scribbling ideas at 3 am, or turning chaos into art. I’m fueled by endless curiosity, a stubborn streak of independence, and the belief that the best things happen when you step outside the lines.

A little more about me …

I’ve lived a life that’s anything but ordinary—diving headfirst into biology, business, religion, and counseling while secretly geeking out over rocks as a geology hobbyist. Oh, and I was an infantryman in the Army.

In 2015, I broke my back in four places. That moment flipped my world upside down, hurling me into a wild storm of physical and mental battles I never saw coming. Life’s a screaming, twisting roller coaster, and I’ve been strapped in for the ride ever since.

Then, on February 6, 2025, my heart took another hit—my 14-year-old legend of a dog, Maximus Decimus Meridius, crossed the rainbow bridge. This wasn’t just a pet; he was the ultimate wingman, my four-legged mate who stood by me through the darkest, most game-changing chapters of my life. Curious about that story? When I’m not plotting my next adventure or wrestling with a new project, you can find me sipping strong (tasting) coffee, debating life’s mysteries with friends, or just soaking in the messy, beautiful chaos of it all with my other dog, Lady Midnight.
